Casa Valduga Gran Reserva Extra Brut is chosen the best national sparkling wine

Casa Valduga Gran Reserva Extra Brut  2002 was the great winner in the category “National Sparklings” in the competitive Top Tem Expovinis Brazil 2009, contest that selects the best wines exhibited in the event.

After totally blind tasting, the wine was chosen by a jury presided by Jorge Lucki and José Ivan dos Santos and formed by experts such as Jorge Carrara, Marcelo Copello, José Maria Santana, Roberto Gerosa, Manuel Beato, Nuno Vaz Pires and by the ‘Master of Wine’ Dirceu Vianna Júnior, the only Brazilian to ever achieve this important and ambitioned graduation in the world of wine.

According to the Master of Wine, Vianna, the Gran Reserva Extra Brut deserved this award for it presented the quality and supremacy of great sparkling from the Champagne region. During the tasting of the awarded wines, the expert commented that the sparkling surprises, both for its unexpected golden colorations, for its complex aromas as well as for its sophisticated taste.

A blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the Gran Reserva Extra Brut was made through the champenoise method, process used in the famous French houses in the Champagne region. After 48 months of aging in the Sparkling Wine Cave, this wine has a bouquet of precious and delicate spices, resembling almonds, dry flowers, exotic and ripe fruit.This wine goes well with hazels, fine canapé, pastas, fish, shrimp, trout, shellfish, lobster, oysters and white meats.
